SACRAMENTO, California --- Since the news media was too busy reporting on Bush being to blame for the bird flu and heart disease, they missed an important report that showed lifting the assault weapons ban a year ago not only didn't increase crime, but murder and violent crime rates actually fell for the first time since 1999. When news finally reached Capitol Hill, Barbara Boxer cried.
