HEALDSBURG, California --- The family of a man who was shot dead after attacking a woman in her home says they told him to commit crimes in San Francisco for his own safety. The unnamed criminal attacked a woman in Healdsburg and was shot dead by the woman's husband.
"We told him to make sure he committed crimes in San Francisco where they banned guns," said one family member. "He has a problem and can't help being a criminal. I was worried that he'd be shot by someone while breaking into their house or attacking their wife. If he just would have limited his criminal activities to San Francisco, he'd still be alive today."
In a related story, the San Francisco Chronicle fired one of its editors for printing a story about a citizen using a gun to defend his wife and property.
